The American Revolution Museum at Yorktown will be hosting several activities that explore the roles and responsibilities of citizens in creating a more perfect union. Being on the doorstep of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the public is confronted with how we commemorate this momentous event.

Join us for a special art program (bring an old T-shirt to upcycle into art!) to examine our identity, understanding and relationship with the American Revolutionary era, learn about various constitutions throughout history and contemplate the work that is still to do to create a more perfect union for everyone.

As part of the preparation for the upcoming “Fresh Views of the American Revolution” community art exhibition, explore works created by Oscar de Mejo during the bicentennial celebrations 50 years ago while creating your own pieces looking back at 250 years of United States history.

“A More Perfect Union” programming is included with your museum admission.
