Join the NC Maritime Museum at Southport in taking a deeper look into what it was like to work in the longest running crab factory in Southport, C.B. Caroon Crab Factory. The seafood industry has a rich history in Southport, NC. A great deal of the work on and off of the water was done by African Americans. Crab and shrimp houses were two businesses who relied heavily on African American women to prepare seafood for sale.
