The time has finally arrived for Dr. Martha Hughes Cannon’s statue to make its way to Washington, D.C.! We’re excited to co-host Martha’s official send-off celebration on Wednesday, June 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City. In partnership with Better Days and the Utah Historical Society, we are honoring one of Utah’s most notable trailblazers, Dr. Martha Hughes Cannon. Before her statue is sent to Washington, D.C., we will have a send-off festival to celebrate her and other incredible Utah women. This event is free and open to the public. It will take place outside of the Utah State Capitol (in the case of inclement weather, the festival will move inside the Capitol). All ages are welcome to join.

Event Schedule:
5 p.m. – Event begins
7:30 p.m. – Program begins
8 p.m. – Martha’s statue is sent to Washington, D.C.

Join us to engage in learning activities about Martha’s extraordinary life, enjoy live music, indulge in food from some of Utah’s finest food trucks, and celebrate Utah women.
