Join us June 22nd from 1-3pm for our latest session of Sketching Stories—our guided drawing series where observation of our present and reflecting on our past come together. In this drawing class, you will be guided through an observational, or life drawing of real artifacts from Varner Hogg Plantation and discover the real stories of the people who used them.

Come face to face with Ima’s Hoggs art collection and uncover the hidden stories of the men and women who made these artifacts. In this session of Sketching Stories, you will be guided through a still-life drawing of real pottery collected by Ima and discover the life and work of the Staffordshire pottery workers who made them.

This still-life drawing class is open to absolute beginners and experienced artists looking to hone their skills and discover stories from the Varner Hogg Plantation. All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sketchbook and drawing tools if you prefer.

This event is free with your $10 admission to the site. (Seniors, veterans, teachers & first responders’ admission is $8) This class is recommended for adults and children over 12. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
