To commemorate the centennial of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote, the Library hosted “We Demand: Women’s Suffrage in Virginia.” These short videos each tell the story of an important person or artifact from that exhibition and trace the history of the woman suffrage movement in Virginia from 1909 until 1920.
